A clear photo of the page with the prices, or a PDF, up to 4 MB. Cover names and phone numbers first if you like. CostGuide does not need them. For medical, dental or vet bills, cover diagnoses, patient names and account numbers before you upload.

Free, up to 5 quotes a day. An AI reads the file and can misread numbers, especially handwriting, so check them against your copy.

What CostGuide checks

  • Every charge. Each line, labeled as labor, parts, materials, a fee or tax.
  • The total. Where it falls in the typical range for that work in your city.
  • Extra fees. Trip, disposal, diagnostic and similar charges, so you know what to ask about.
  • Money up front. How much is due before the work starts.
  • The basics. Whether it mentions a warranty, shows a license number and says how long the price holds.
  • The math. Whether the charges add up to the total.

What happens to your file

Your file goes to Anthropic, whose Claude AI reads it, and the result comes straight back to this page. Anthropic does not use it to train its AI, and deletes it within 30 days, or keeps it up to 2 years if its safety systems flag it. CostGuide does not keep the file or the text read from it. If you tick the box, only the kind of work, the city and the dollar amounts are saved. Privacy details
